Kanako and friends has once again terrorized the anime industry as its sequel airs this spring 2011. Yes, the anime with the blonde-twintailed Mariya and her little secret. B-but yeah, let's go for a quick info about the whole thing first.
The story focuses on a girl named Kanako, who transferred at an all-girls school to meet the girl of her dreams (Yes, indeed). However, her fail-proof plan backfired after she stumbled on a secret of one of the most popular girls at Ame-no-kiseki gakuen, Mariya Shidou. If you like Shaft's comedy genre anime such as Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei and Arakawa Under the bridge, then you'll probably love this one as well.
The first episode is okay, it's good to see old favorites come back and do their comedic gags. The drawings were inexplicably smexy as always (Especially Deus Ex Machine -err, Matsurika :P) and I hope for more of those to come.
My only concern about this is about the OP. Well, it IS Shaft, It's not surprising that they made a rather unique opening for this anime (Season 1 "Hanabi" is quite spectacular, if you ask me). Also, I hope they reveal more of Kanako and Maria's past for the next few episodes.
